Man arrested in New Redruth for fuse theft
CPS Security has noticed a pattern in mini substation fuse theft and managed to arrest a man found in possession of fuses.
Fuses from mini substations are being stolen more frequently in Alberton.
The director of CPS Security, Tyrone van der Merwe, said by using a resident’s CCTV, a video was captured and their crew was given the task of keeping surveillance.
“The crew spotted a man looking for his next mini substation to break into,” said Van der Merwe.
The suspect was searched, and they found stolen fuses in his possession.
The security officers contacted Alberton SAPS, and the suspect was arrested and taken into custody in Camborne Road, New Redruth.
