Local businessman gunned down in Alberton North
Alberton SAPS are investigating a murder case of a shooting that took place at 72 Radio Road in Alberton North.

A local businessman, Christofer Savva (57), was gunned down at his business in 72 Radio Road, Alberton North, at about 06:15 on November 22.
According to the owner of the commercial business park, Helen Beukes, three robbers came into their premises shortly after the security officer unlocked a gate.
Beukes told the Alberton Record that they usually open the gate at around 06:00 for business every day because they reside on the premises with the security officer.
She said that three men got on the premises and held up the security guard, tied him up with ropes and held him hostage at the back of the yard where he was residing.
“Christofer came in the morning as usual to open his place of business. Christofer was off-loading stock from his car when two of the armed robbers came towards him and shot him. He fell onto the back seat of his car with the lower part of his body outside the car,” Beukes said.
According to Alberton SAPS, one of their personnel attended the crime scene after they received a call from a resident that there was a shooting.
Alberton SAPS said that upon the sergeant’s arrival, he found an ambulance already on the scene from Gauteng EMS and a maroon Renault.
In the Renault, there was someone who told SAPS that there was a man that has been shot inside his car, a Porsche. His body was found in the back seat.
The deceased was shot on the left side of the head.
The sister of the deceased, Helen Savva, described her brother as someone who was very professional and also as a busy businessman who always ensured that his business was taken care of.
“My brother was a kind-hearted person who always took care of his family and ensured that their needs were taken care of. What transpired shocked us. We believe he is now at peace and next to God. We will miss him,” she said.
The late Christofer was laid to rest on December 2 at the Greek Orthodox Church.
