Operation Shanela yields 22 arrests

Kliprivier SAPS has commended its members for working around the clock to combat crime in their policing precinct.

Operation Shanela, conducted at the Kliprivier SAPS policing precinct on February 16, saw the arrest of 22 suspects over the weekend.

The joint operation that yielded great results consisted of various police stations in the district.

“The operation led to the arrest of suspects for driving under the influence of alcohol, and for possession of gold-bearing materials (illegal mining).

“They are expected to appear soon at a local court,” said Sergeant Ndhambi Tintswalo of Kliprivier SAPS.
