Two arrested in Alberton during EMPD stop and search
Locals are encouraged to report suspicious acts, cars, and individuals roaming in the streets of Alberton. This comes after two were apprehended near Jackson Dam in Brackenhurst when a suspicious vehicle was spotted in the area.
EMPD Community Liaison Unit (CLU) and CPS Security arrested two suspects during a stop-and-search operation in the Brakenhurst area.
According to EMPD CLU, a suspicious car was observed, stationary at Jackson Dam, Le Maitre Street, during the stop-and-search.
Following their arrival, the teams checked the car and discovered two people inside.
The occupants had one firearm, two live rounds of ammunition, and narcotics.
“They arrested the suspects and transported them to Brackendowns SAPS, where they were charged,” EMPD CLU said.
EMPD thanked everyone involved in ensuring that drugs and firearms were removed from Alberton’s streets.
