Suspects arrested in two separate incidents thanks to swift action
Swift teamwork between CPS Security and local law enforcement brought suspected criminals to justice after break-in in New Redruth and a violent panga attack in Verwoerdpark.
CPS Security response teams, in collaboration with the EMPD, successfully apprehended suspects in two unrelated criminal incidents this past week, one involving a business break-in and the other an attempted murder in Alberton.
Business break-in foiled in New Redruth
Two suspects were arrested after breaking into a local business on Voortrekker Road in New Redruth.
The CPS Security control room received a panic signal and immediately dispatched rapid response units to the scene.
Upon arrival, the suspects attempted to flee on foot, but both were swiftly apprehended.
The men were handed over to the EMPD’s Crime Prevention Unit and detained at the Alberton SAPS. A case of business break-in has been officially opened.
Attempted murder suspects caught in Verwoerdpark
In a separate and more serious incident, CPS Security’s tactical team tracked down suspects linked to an attempted murder in Verwoerdpark.

The victim, the son of one of CPS’s long-standing clients, was viciously assaulted with a panga and left with serious injuries.
He is receiving medical care at Alberton Hospital.
Acting on intelligence, the CPS tactical team visited three locations and successfully arrested three out of the four suspects.
The fourth suspect remains at large. All detained individuals are currently held at Alberton SAPS.
CPS Security extended their thanks to the members of EMPD who assisted during the operations.
