Drive-by shooting on N12 West leaves 2 men dead near Alberton

It is reported that another vehicle carrying a woman was struck by stray bullets during the shooting incident, but fortunately she was unharmed.

Two men in a white VW sedan were reportedly fatally shot in what is believed to have been a drive-by shooting on the N12 westbound, near the Voortrekker Road off-ramp to Alberton, earlier today

The motive for the incident remains unclear, and no suspects have been identified at this stage.

Information from the scene indicates that bullets also struck another vehicle carrying a woman, who was unharmed.

At the time of publishing, traffic was severely affected, with three lanes blocked. Vehicles travelling from the N3 southbound towards Alberton are being redirected via the Grey Avenue off-ramp.

Emergency services, including SAPS, Gauteng Traffic Police, CPS Security, ER24 and Netcare 911, are reportedly on scene, and the highway remains closed while investigations continue.

SAPS has been approached for comment, and updates will follow as more information becomes available.
