Gate motor theft ring busted in Alberton and Germiston
Seven suspects have been arrested in a joint operation targeting a gate motor theft syndicate plaguing Alberton and Germiston suburbs.
CPS Security, in collaboration with the Germiston SAPS Trio Unit, successfully apprehended a group of suspects believed to be behind a spate of gate motor thefts across several suburbs.
The arrests followed a series of complaints about a white Suzuki Swift reportedly linked to multiple theft incidents in New Redruth, Randhart, Brackenhurst, Dinwiddie and Castle View.

Acting swiftly on the information received, CPS Security’s tactical team, alongside the Germiston SAPS, tracked down and arrested seven suspects.
The individuals now face multiple charges, including possession of narcotics, possession of stolen property, malicious damage to property and possession of housebreaking implements.

Authorities believe the suspects may be connected to several other cases in the area.
CPS Security has urged residents who may have CCTV footage of the suspects or the getaway vehicle to come forward to help link the arrests to additional crimes.

The company extended its gratitude to the Germiston SAPS for their professionalism and dedication, noting that the operation marks a significant step in curbing property-related crimes in the Alberton and Germiston areas.
