Fox Security’s paramedic, Esmarie Kruger, recently visited Train Kids Alberton to talk about burn safety.
She told the little ones more about the Burnshield Emergency Burn Care and she also showed them how to care for burns.
“Never put butter or toothpaste on a burn wound, only clear running water,” she said.
“Cool the wound under cold running water. Cooling the wound will reduce pain, swelling and the risk of scarring.
The sooner and longer a burn wound is cooled with cold running water, the less the impact of the injury.”
The children enjoyed the visit from Esmarie and the school thanked her for taking the time to visit them.
