Nominations for Cantare Alberton Community Awards are open

Nominations are now open to recognise individuals, organisations and the community for their contributions.

Nominations are open for the Cantare Alberton Community Awards and the closing date for submissions is September 30.

The Cantare Alberton Community Awards is an annual event that aims to recognise and celebrate excellence within the Alberton community.

“These awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge and highlight individuals, community organisations, and the wider community for their contributions to building meaningful relationships, fostering social change, and promoting community engagement,” explained Clinton Moollen.

Here are the mandatory requirements for nominating a candidate for the Cantare Alberton Community Awards:

Nominator’s submission:

1. A one-page biography (BIO) of the nominee.

2. A camera-ready photo of the nominee.

3. A one-page typed, single-spaced written narrative.

In the written narrative, please provide answers to the following questions about the nominee:

• What significant change in their community has the nominee demonstrated? (Please provide specific details about the change or improvements brought about by the nominee.)

• What positive influences has the nominee had in bringing about change or healing for the betterment of the community? (Describe how the nominee’s actions or initiatives have had a positive impact on the community.)

• Who in the community benefited from the positive influence and changes expressed or carried out by the nominee? (Specify individuals, groups, or organisations within the community that have benefited from the nominee’s contributions.)

• It’s important to note that the nominee must exemplify the qualities and attributes associated with the specific category for which they are being nominated. Each nominee should meet the criteria specified for that particular category.

“If you intend to nominate someone for these awards, ensure that your nomination package includes all the required documents and narratives to provide a comprehensive understanding of the nominee’s contributions to the Alberton community,” said Moollen.

The Cantare Community Awards serve as a platform to recognise and appreciate those who have made a significant difference in their community, so take the time to nominate deserving individuals or organisations.

The Awards Ceremony will take place on October 14.
