SAPS hold safety awareness campaign

To ensure a safer festive season, members of Brackendowns SAPS recently held a safety awareness campaign.

Members of Brackendowns SAPS, including sector managers, social crime prevention officers, and domestic violence coordinators, patrolled the R59 and old Vereeniging Road on November 22.

The purpose was to curb truck hijackings and to warn truck drivers about the dangers of stopping at the biggest hotspot area for hijackings.

They gave motorists safety tips and encouraged them to phone the police for any suspicious criminal activity during the festive season. They also issued at least 100 pamphlets with safety tips.
