Kewpie Nursery School bids Aggie farewell
For the last 18 years Aggie looked after the community's babies.
In a heartfelt farewell ceremony held on February 3, Agnes Masoue, known as Aggie, said her goodbyes to Kewpie Nursery School after dedicating 18 years of her life to nurturing and caring for the little ones.
Aggie, who has been an integral part of the Kewpie Babies family since 1992, expressed mixed emotions as she reflected on her time at the school.
“For many years I looked after the little ones and saw them reach their milestones. I worked in a very buzzed environment. It was never quiet, and now all I am going to hear is silence. I am very sad to go and it feels like I am leaving a part of me behind,” she said.
The best part of her job was working with children.
“They brought me so much joy and made every minute of every day worth it. I especially enjoyed potty training the little ones,” she said.

Despite the bittersweet goodbye, Aggie said she would visit the school regularly.
“I will still come to Kewpie for the children. When the owner Magda sees me, she must not ask questions and just knows I am here for a visit,” Aggie remarked with a laugh.
Magda and Jan Niemand, the owners of Kewpie, praised Aggie’s unwavering commitment.
“Aggie has never been absent. She is a real people person who has a big love for children. That love can be seen. We will miss Agnes dearly,” they said.
Looking ahead, Aggie revealed her plans for self-care and preparation for a much-needed operation in 2026.
“I do not have specific plans and will take it day by day,” she explained.
“I look forward to spending more time with my children and seven grandchildren.”
As Aggie closes this chapter of her life, her legacy at Kewpie Nursery School will always be remembered fondly by staff, parents, and the children she cared for over nearly two decades.
