New diesel depot opens in Alrode

The newly launched depot brings enthusiasm about serving and contributing to the community.

Efora Energy recently announced its intention to acquire a diesel depot in Alrode, Alberton through its wholly owned subsidiary Efora Holdings Proprietary Limited (EH).

The 3 600 m² depot, situated at 34 Flamink Road, has a 150 000-litre storage capacity and boasts more than 300m² of office space and a workshop.

Efora celebrated the successful opening of the depot with a launch event on February 21.

In a statement, the company said the depot serves to support the wholesale segment of Efora’s overall business strategy and it will provide storage in a key industrial node, close to major oil companies, which supports the company’s supply chain either directly or indirectly.

The company also states that the focus of the depot is exclusively on diesel at this stage and they do not store or handle any other petroleum products at the site.

“This diesel hub is strategically located to supply our existing customer base and serve the potential wholesale consumers of diesel in a busy industrial centre”, said Darrin Arendse, chief executive officer of Efora Energy.

The depot manager Clement Baloyi stressed the importance of safety and regulatory compliance in their operations. “We are proud of what we have achieved thus far. Our depot is a top-class facility with the capacity to serve our customers safely and efficiently,” said Baloyi.

The on-site team at the depot is supported by a sales and finance team, based at Efora’s headquarters in Fourways, Gauteng.

Peace Oompie, the sales manager for Efora says she is excited about the new possibilities the new depot brings.

On the topic of onboarding new customers to the depot, Oompie comments, “Our product quality is excellent and can be tested on-site by our customers. As a company, we are known for building long-lasting relationships with our suppliers, clients, and stakeholders. We bring that energy with us to Alrode and look forward to building many new relationships in the region.”

“While the current energy landscape in South Africa demands most businesses to take a self-sufficient approach to their energy security, diesel is a significant element in their energy mix. This creates opportunities for companies like Efora to leverage their expertise and resources to create value for shareholders while serving a market experiencing daily energy challenges.

In further conversation with the Efora CEO, Darrin Arendse, he said this is precisely what they are doing and that their strategy is clear on expansion in the wholesale diesel sector.

“Storage and logistics capacity are always advantageous in the diesel space and our new depot is a significant step in the right direction for us. “That is why we are exceptionally pleased with this acquisition, as it is in keeping with our strategy.”
