Bingo Day brings success to SPCA

The Alberton SPCA’s latest Bingo Day fundraiser was its most successful one yet.

According to Lauren Martens, the fundraising manager, the response was overwhelming.

“This was our fourth Bingo event, so I think people knew what a great event it would be. I believe word of mouth and successful advertising in print and on social media contributed to the success,” she said.

About 200 people attended and enjoyed the fun of playing Bingo and a lunch of prego rolls and chips.

“A heartfelt thank you must go to Casa Do Comprado in New Market Park for allowing us to host our function at their restaurant and being incredible hosts,” Martens said.

The SPCA thanks these sponsors:

• David and Paul, the amazingly talented Bingo callers who gave up their time to help it;

• Their fundraising committee comprising Martens, Vonjia Bauchomp, Carol Paterson, Harry Meyer, Dawn Manelis and Carolyn Williams;

• Natasha Tang and Remax All Stars for organising a variety of prizes;

• All the other sponsors who contributed to the prizes;

• And finally, every single person who bought a ticket and supported this worthy cause.

The Alberton SPCA has an intake of anything between 200 and 400 animals monthly that need care, so funds raised at this event will go to caring for these animals and much-needed projects at the SPCA.
