Help Alberton High’s girls’ badminton team get to Senegal

Donate to the badminton girls’ team and help them get to Senegal for the All Africa Schools Championships.

Alberton High’s girls’ badminton team need funds to go to Senegal for the All Africa Schools Championships in August.

This follows their win at the Badminton National Championships in Durban. The players and the coach must fund all costs to represent SA at the tournament.

“We are unfortunately not able to cover all the involved costs and appeal to the community for donations,” explained Natasha le Grange, the team coach.

The donations will cover accommodation, food, travel costs, kits, visas and entry fees. Each player needs about R32 300.

Last year, the team came second in the championship, proving their determination.

Since the inception of the championships in 2008, Alberton High School has been among the top 10 schools every year.

“We participated again this year in the SA Schools Championships, and the girls were unbeaten during the tournament and took first place.”

The school asks the community to donate to the team because this is a lifetime opportunity for the girls.

Donations can be made directly to the school using these banking details:

Bank: Nedbank
