Homeless but not forgotten: Homeless participate in soccer tournament
Homeless community unites through Salvation Foundation’s soccer tournament.
Salvation Foundation brought joy and friendship to the homeless community through its annual soccer tournament held at KFC Florentia on October 20.
This inspiring event aimed to instil teamwork, unity and a sense of belonging among participants.
The homeless individuals formed teams, showcasing remarkable sportsmanship, honour and teamwork.
Ryan Ellapan of the Salvation Foundation said: “The enthusiastic players competed fiercely yet graciously. Medals were awarded to the top two teams, while the best player of the tournament got a trophy.”
Salvation Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to sponsors whose generosity provided refreshing water and cool drinks, oranges, boerewors rolls, ice lollies and chips.
Beyond soccer, the tournament fostered meaningful connections. The organisation and the participants shared a moment of fellowship drawing everyone close to God.
