Laerskool Elspark brings joy to the Alberton Retirement Village

Learners from Laerskool Elspark arrived at the Alberton Retirement Village for an afternoon concert for all the residents on October 16.

The residents were treated to beautiful choral singing by the junior choir led by Bonita Nell and the senior choir led by Christa Feistel.

Accompaniment of the two choirs was provided respectively by Christa Feistel and Anna le Roux with Madelyn Stoman on the African drum.

The grades one to three junior speech choir of Elspark, to the delight of the residents, performed a poem by Jaco Jacobs. During this performance, it was explained to the precious audience exactly how school rules will change when learners take charge.

Helene Grobler from Laerskool Elspark coached the speech choir.

At the end of the proceedings, every resident who attended the concert was treated to a carefully curated gift box sponsored and donated by Laerskool Elspark.

Great appreciation goes out to the staff, Elsa van Staden, Madelyn Stoman and Chantelle Badenhorst who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the afternoon a great success.

As one of the messages in the gift box reads: “To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honours.”
