Locals and visitors gathered to enjoy an evening filled with delicious food, handcrafted goods, and vibrant entertainment.

The Jonker Evolution team, management of Town Square at Newmarket, saw an opportunity and need for a fun-filled family-orientated night within the greater Alberton community by hosting Town Square’s first night market.

Elmi Jonker van Renssen said: “We believe the greater Alberton community is looking to do something different for entertainment and family outings. The night market is the perfect night out for the family and establishing Town Square at Newmarket as a venue of choice.”

Town Square at Newmarket partnered with The Urban Markets team, who assisted in this market’s success, with all hands on deck, ranging from the internal team to cleaners, electricians, marketers and security.

“The atmosphere at the night market was thrilling,” highlighted Elmi. Over 70 vendors were present, with craft stalls, children’s entertainment, live music, food and drinks. There was something for everyone.

“A highlight from the opening night was when the fairy lights switched on at 18:30. It brought together the image the management envisioned the market to be – magical and inviting.

“The turnout exceeded our wildest expectations and we thank the greater Alberton community for making this event a success,” expressed Elmi.

The attendees can look forward to a Christmas market on December 6 from 16:00 to 22:00.
