Eden Park youth-owned barber wins at Township Economy Awards

The win comes months after Young Barber won at the Youth Owned Brands Award in June.

Young Barber, an Eden Park youth-owned business, recently won another award – this time at the Township Economy Awards for professional service of the year.

Le-more Jannetjies, the founder and manager of the Young Barber, took to social media to thank the public for their support.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude because this incredible milestone marks the rise of our brand and the start of a new era for Young Barber. This award is a testament to the limitless service we deliver daily and our unwavering commitment to empowering townships and uplifting communities,” wrote Jannetjies in a Facebook post.

In June, Young Barbershop, which employs young people, won the Youth-Owned Brands Award for top hair and beauty brand. It operates in two locations – Eden Park and Alrode South.

Young Barber has thrived since its 2020 establishment. This youth-owned business employs young people who would otherwise be unemployed in a country gripped by youth unemployment.
