Various departments from Ekurhuleni address service delivery issues
Several departments visit Alberton North community to address service delivery issues.
The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) hosted a service delivery open day at Alberton North Clinic on March 26 to address the residents’ concerns.
Issues such as power outages, water shortages, poor clinic conditions and deteriorating roads have frustrated the community.
Representatives from various Ekurhuleni departments, including environmental resource & waste management, indigent and finance, roads and energy gathered to engage with residents.

The event provided services, including debt relief, property valuation, economic development permits, and assistance with water and energy queries.
Khosi Dlamini, the walk-in centre manager, explained the initiative aimed to bring municipal services closer to residents, especially those unable to visit the municipality because of illness or mobility issues.
“We are here with the departments in high demand in this community, including the water department, to help with leaking pipes and provide tips on water conservation,” she said.

During the event, the road department urged residents to report issues related to road infrastructure and the energy department educated the community about electricity tariffs and the dangers of power theft.
One resident, who had been dealing with poor toilet conditions because of water shortages, expressed hope that the event would improve service delivery at the clinic.
The community left the event with a better understanding of available services, as well as information on how to resolve ongoing issues affecting their daily lives.
