The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, and her deputy, Andries Nel, recently visited the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

The visit came after claims of corruption and service delivery issues levelled against the court.

“The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, visited the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court. Kubayi met with civil society organisations, legal professionals, ordinary community members and other stakeholders.

“I received complaints from NGOs who work in this court. They said they are not happy with the proceedings here, and that necessitated my visit. This is a place where people must find justice,” said Kubayi during an address to the media.

The minister said she hoped that her oversight visit to the court would bring constructive feedback, improve services, and strengthen collaboration between government entities, legal professionals, and the community.
