WATCH: Eden Park youth-owned business among top ten MTN small business successes
Young Barbershop, an Eden Park youth-owned business, has been on an upward trajectory since its establishment in 2020.
An Eden Park youth-owned business, the Young Barbershop, established in 2020, was among 2025’s top 10 MTN-702 Small Business Award finalists.
The Small Business Awards spotlight small SA businesses that go the extra mile to give their customers good service.
The awards also give on-air and digital exposure to businesses to help them reach a wider audience and promote what they do and how well they do it.
@albertonrecordEden Park’s Young Barbershop recently made it to the finals of the MTN Small Business Awards.
The finalists gathered in Sandton on April 16 for this year’s small business announcements.
The business that won the ultimate prize got R200 000 worth of radio advertising and office space in the affluent areas of Rosebank or Sandton, valued at R450 000 for 12 months.

Young Barbershop was among those considered for the grand prize, but the judges’ decision saw another small business win. But Young Barbershop did get exposure.
“We were honoured to make it to the top 10 out of 909 small business nominations for the MTN-702 awards. At Young Barbershop, we celebrate every step of the journey, every lesson, every late night, every breakthrough. It’s not just about taking first place. It’s about learning, growing, and showing up consistently.
“This is just the beginning. Thank you to the team behind the vision, the community that believes in us and the purpose that drives us,” said a Young Barbershop statement.
