Help Stepping Stone Hospice support children in need

Stepping Stone Hospice is calling on the community to support a fundraiser and awareness event at Bracken City Shopping Centre on May 31.

The event will take place from 09:00 to 13:00 with cupcakes on sale to raise funds for the organisation’s children’s unit.

The community is encouraged to donate cupcakes or contribute financially to help make the event a success.

The children’s unit opened in July 2024 and addresses a critical shortage of facilities dedicated to paediatric palliative care.

It offers 10 beds, designated areas for parents to stay overnight and carefully designated spaces for play and study.

The goal is to provide specialised care in a warm, supportive environment that helps reduce stress and anxiety for young patients and their families.

Community involvement plays a key role in sustaining the unit’s work and every cupcake sold contributes to maintaining the standard of care provided.
