Alberton Latin and ballroom dance coach wins international award

Alberton Latin and ballroom dance coach recently won an international award.
Jumah Mohammed travelled to Poland for his debut on the Latin world stage at the World Artistic Dance Federation’s (WADF) world championships.
A multi-title holder and respected dance coach, Mohammed, has a passion for developing dancers of all levels.
He is known for his unwavering belief in dance student development and the ability to bring out the best in his trainees.
Mohammed has trained numerous dancers to reach new heights, including helping them compete at international levels.
It was his first time dancing Latin internationally. He did not just compete, he won. Mohammed secured multiple podium finishes and made history by winning the world champion title in Paso Doble.
Commenting on his win, Mohammed said: “Standing on the podium, I felt emotional. I made it. South Africa, we made it.”
With no coach and no sponsors, he credits the win to passion and hard work.
The dance coach continues to grow his dance empire through Saint Ballroom and Jazz Masters.
His latest project, Saint Ballroom Alberton, is already changing lives. He was scouted at Talent Africa and selected to represent Team South Africa in the USA Show Your Talent 2025.
Mohammed has a goal of bringing home a world solo ballroom title in 2025. And he does not plan to go alone. He is preparing to take students with him to experience the world championships, which will offer exposure, experience, and inspiration at the highest level.
“To anyone reading this, never give up. Like my father said, ‘walk tall’ and like my mother said, ‘believe’,” said Mohammed.
Through Saint Ballroom Alberton, Mohammed is recruiting and training aspiring dancers.
