Ekurhuleni fights illegal dumping with new mini dump sitesb

Residents are encouraged to use over 30 free sites for safe disposal of garden and recyclable waste.

The City of Ekurhuleni has established over 30 mini dump sites to combat illegal dumping and provide residents with a convenient way to dispose of garden waste.

Several mini dump sites are available for free disposal of general, non-hazardous solid waste. Residents can help reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills by using these sites.

The mini dumpsites accept recyclable waste, including garden waste, and residents are encouraged to compost garden waste for fertiliser in their gardens.

The operating hours for the mini dump sites vary seasonally, with winter hours from 07:00 to 18:00 (April to September) and summer hours from 07:00 to 17:00 (October to March).

There is a mini dump site on Swartkoppies Road and another on Heidelberg Road.

Residents can find their nearest mini dump site by visiting the city’s website.

By working together, residents can help keep Ekurhuleni clean and beautiful.
