Addict’s Voice expands services to Limpopo to clean up drug-affected streets

Alberton-based NPO reaches further to bring hope and healing to struggling communities.

In a bold move to widen its impact, Addict’s Voice, a community-driven NPO founded in 2020, has expanded its outreach and rehabilitation services to two locations in Limpopo, Mokopane and Polokwane.

This is part of a strategic partnership with local NGOs to combat the rise in substance abuse and its devastating effects on individuals and communities.

Although still headquartered in Alberton, where the organisation has become a recognised force in drug rehabilitation and support, Addict’s Voice is extending a compassionate hand to the streets of Limpopo.

Working closely with grassroots organisations on the ground, the NPO aims to ensure drug users who choose recovery are supported holistically, emotionally, spiritually, and practically.

Empowerment through faith and skills

With the mission remaining rooted in faith, Evette Kruger, founder of Addict’s Voice, said that they believe the only sustainable thing they can offer is Jesus. However, faith must be coupled with action, and that’s why they offer genuine opportunities for healing and transformation.

The Limpopo initiative includes on-the-street rehabilitation efforts and structured programmes that equip participants with vital life and employment skills.

From addiction recovery support groups and relapse prevention to vocational training and mental wellness workshops, Addict’s Voice is working to build people up from the inside out.

“We don’t just want to get people clean. We want to empower them to stay clean and build meaningful, dignified lives,” Evette said.

Serving the next generation

In a move that reflects its ongoing commitment to the vulnerable, Addict’s Voice has handed over its original Alberton facility to Alberton Child Welfare, where it is now used as a temporary shelter for children in crisis.

The facility supports children in urgent need of care while the welfare organisation secures proper documentation and fosters long-term placements.

“This isn’t the end of our journey in Alberton; it’s simply a new chapter. The group is now actively seeking a new permanent base in the area to continue their services, and they are calling on local businesses, faith-based organisations and individuals to support their mission,” Corne van Tonder, a member of Addict’s Voice, said.

Call for support

With an ever-expanding reach and increasing demand for services, Addict’s Voice is urgently seeking donations and sponsorships to sustain and grow its efforts.

“We walk the streets with purpose, power and passion, taking a stand against drugs, street prostitution and the exploitation of vulnerable women and girls. This work requires resources, and we can’t do it alone,” they said.
The organisation continues to operate in Alberton, offering addiction recovery support and street rehabilitation services.

Addict’s Voice and its partners, including Fearless Life Ministries, welcome volunteers, donors, and corporate sponsors to join the fight for healthier, safer communities.
