WATCH: Businessman Sheldon Tatchell lends helping hand to upcoming barbershop entrepreneur
Sheldon Tatchell is famous for establishing Legends Barber which has more than 70 branches that span South Africa and other parts of the African continent.
An appeal for assistance by an upcoming barbershop entrepreneur in Eden Park caught the attention of Sheldon Tatchell, a businessman known for establishing Legends Barber, which has over 70 branches across South Africa and Africa.
Eden Park’s Davian Benjamin reached out to Sheldon.
Besides running multiple successful businesses, Sheldon is famous for his charitable causes aimed at uplifting the youth.
“Today, I am in Eden Park visiting a barber who just recovered from drug abuse. He now tries to rebuild his life, cutting hair from his home. I came to bless him with equipment, but more than that, I am here to give him hope,” said Sheldon in a statement.
Benjamin overcame a 12-year drug addiction. As of June 2025, he has been sober and clean for one year and six months.
“I recently started my own business called Crosses and Clippers. I reached out to Sheldon, and today, Sheldon and his team came to see me and supplied me with professional barbershop equipment. They also taught me how to scale my business,” said Benjamin.
“We are truly grateful as a community that influential people like Sheldon and his team at Fxde are supplying us with equipment and bringing hope, so that we too can be the hope in our community,” added Benjamin.
Fxde is a hair clipper-making company also founded by Sheldon. For every 10 clippers Fxde sells, he donates one to a barber in need of professional tools.
“Thousands of barbers have already been supported by Fxde with equipment and renewed confidence. This business is not just about clippers. It’s about changing lives, one barber at a time,” said Sheldon.
He noted that June 21 marked exactly a year since Fxde was established, making it South Africa’s first locally founded hair clipper company.
