WATCH: 400 Eden Park residents receive food during Mandela Day drive

Durapi Consulting (Pty) Ltd, in partnership with Tabernacle of David Ministries, celebrated Mandela Day by handing out food and drinks to 400 community members in Eden Park.

Durapi Consulting (Pty) Ltd, in partnership with Tabernacle of David Ministries, hosted a Mandela Day outreach in Eden Park where 400 people received food, soup and refreshments.

The event took place on July 18, from 11:30 to 14:00 at the Tabernacle of David Ministries.

“We are here in Eden Park to celebrate the life of Nelson Mandela,” said Sandra Heijns of Durapi Consulting.

“They say it’s 67 minutes, but it’s not enough. We are here to serve the community and we did 400 food parcels today. We know this should be done every day. We wish we could, but today we’re here.”

The outreach was filled with warm smiles, gratitude and a shared sense of purpose. Organisers said their hope is to continue serving communities beyond just one day.

“This shouldn’t be a once-off thing and we would like to do it as much as possible,” added Leeyaken Maharaj. “We would like to thank everyone who made this day possible.”
