WATCH: Miss Face of Gauteng serves Eden Park community for Mandela Day
Miss Face of Gauteng, Keesha Williams, teamed up with a fellow pageant finalist to serve samp and bread to 100 residents in Eden Park for Mandela Day.
Miss Face of Gauteng, Keesha Williams, in collaboration with 10-year-old Ntsako Dlamini, a Miss and Mr Alberton finalist, marked Mandela Day by giving back to the Eden Park community.
On July 18 from 12:30, the pair served plates of samp along with loaves of bread to local residents in need.
The initiative, held in honour of Nelson Mandela’s legacy, fed 100 community members, with each person receiving a plate of warm samp and a loaf of bread.

The loaves were sponsored by Metro Kids, while the samp was prepared by Clare Karelse, whom Williams publicly thanked.
“Yes, I was happy,” said Williams, reflecting on the experience. “But it was heartbreaking at the end because when the samp and bread finished, there were still kids and grannies coming.”
Despite the emotional end, the initiative left a lasting impact and showed the power of small acts of kindness during Mandela Day.
Both Williams and Dlamini expressed gratitude for the support received and hope to continue similar outreach efforts in the future.
