Pet Smart supports local efforts to feed stray animals in Alberton

Pet Smart Value at Lemon Tree Shopping Centre donates pet food to help feed stray animals in Alberton, offering much-needed support to a local metro police officer

Pet Smart Value at Lemon Tree Shopping Centre recently made a generous donation of pet food to assist in feeding stray animals in and around Alberton.

Sarel Strydom, a manager at Pet Smart, explained that the store regularly supports individuals who are unable to afford pet food. Most recently, he donated 10kg of cat food to Metro Police officer Quinton John Steenberg, who looks after six stray cats.

“If I have something, I give it to people who can’t afford it. Even the shop owner doesn’t have a problem with that,” said Sarel.

Quinton expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Pet Smart for their contribution.

“I thank Pet Smart from my heart for their assistance. Without their support, these cats would be left to fend for themselves. I truly appreciate their help,” he said.

Quinton is currently seeking further assistance with feeding the strays and hopes to receive help for spaying or neutering the animals.

Anyone who would like to help can contact Quinton via email at Mazabear@gmail.com
