Alberton Lions Club to host food drive at Verwoerdpark SPAR
Join the Alberton Lions Club on August 30 at the Verwoerdpark SPAR for a food collection drive. Donations of non-perishable foods and cat and dog food are needed.
The Alberton Lions Club will host a food collection drive at the Verwoerdpark SPAR from 08:00 to noon on August 30.
The public is encouraged to donate non-perishable foods, as well as dog and cat food, in support of vulnerable and underprivileged families in the community.
This initiative is part of the club’s ongoing commitment to serving those in need. It supports four old-age homes and five creches, which receive regular donations of fruit and vegetables.
Lion George Foster, who leads the food drive efforts, emphasised the importance of community involvement: “These collections are vital for the club’s ability to serve. We rely on the generosity of the public to help us help others,” he said.
Residents are invited to stop by, meet the team and learn more about the charity work done by the Alberton Lions.
