WATCH: Alberton SAPS, CPF and SANBS host lifesaving blood drive

The SANBS continues to call on South Africans to pledge to save lives and donate blood, stressing that every unit collected contributes to saving patients in need across the country.

The Alberton community, with the CPF, Alberton SAPS, and the South African National Blood Service (SANBS), joined forces for a lifesaving blood drive held at the Alberton Police Station on August 27, from 09:30 to 11:30.

Alberton SAPS station commander Colonel Olven Letloenyane emphasised the importance of the initiative, noting that with the festive season approaching, blood donations are needed more than ever.

“We joined Alberton CPF on this initiative because of its great importance. We are getting close to the festive season, and it’s important to have such events,” he said.

Deidre de Carvalho of the Alberton CPF explained that the event was initially planned to coincide with Mandela Day but was later moved to allow for greater participation.
