Brackenhurst Primary supports CPF with donation drive

Brackenhurst Primary learners swapped uniforms for civvies on August 1, collecting stationery and toiletries for the Brackendowns CPF to assist residents in need.

Brackenhurst Primary School learners stepped up to support the community when the school hosted a civvies’ day in aid of the Brackendowns CPF.

Foundation phase learners exchanged their uniforms for casual wear by bringing in stationery donations. Their contributions included coloured pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters, glue, and rulers.

Meanwhile, the InterSen Phase learners collected toiletries, with each grade responsible for specific items such as soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, washcloths, and sponges.

All the donated items were handed over to the CPF to be used when the need arises, such as assisting citizens who are taken to safe houses.

Melody Toy, head of Brackenhurst Primary’s Community Committee, met with CPF members Roxy Scholtz, Shaun d’Hotman, and Kim Rousseau to hand over the supplies.

“We are so thankful for the work that CPF does in our neighbourhood to keep us safe and secure,” Toy said.
