WATCH: 13-year anniversary of Alberton Ligstad childcare services
Ligstad runs a crèche, aftercare, and care for the elderly and counselling services for the community of Alberton.
Ligstad Preschool and Aftercare celebrated 13 years since its establishment. The Alberton North-based community centre operates a crèche, aftercare, care for the elderly, and counselling services for the Alberton community.
Alida Jooste, social worker and manager of childcare services at Ligstad, expressed how proud they are of the work they do at the centre and said they are pleased with the progress over the 13 years since Ligstad’s founding.
“It is important for us to celebrate our anniversary every year because it is not a given to remain sustainable as an organisation. Here’s to the next 13 years,” said Jooste proudly.

Ligstad’s crèche, pre-schoolers, and aftercare children were visibly excited to see a cake being cut, while gathering around the centre’s steel bench for a photo opportunity. The centre’s staff members were also happy while arranging the children for a group photo.
