WATCH: Eden Park’s Keesha Williams crowned Miss Face of Gauteng charity queen for the third time

The 19-year-old model and first runner-up at Miss Face of Gauteng 2025 continues to make her mark through her passion for charity and women’s empowerment.

Keesha Williams (19) recently made her mark at the Miss Face of Gauteng pageant, earning the title of first runner-up and taking the crown for charity queen for the third time.

Her achievements reflect her talent and commitment. Williams was overjoyed at the results, saying her hard work had paid off.

“Earning charity queen three times in a row shows my passion for helping others,” she noted.

She won the Miss Class 2024 community champion title, and this year, received the charity child blazer at Miss Joburg South before securing the charity queen at Miss Face of Gauteng.

Passion for giving back

Her motivation to enter the pageant stemmed from her advocacy for women’s empowerment, adding that the competition’s mission aligned with her own focus on promoting sisterhood and supporting young girls.

The charity queen title holds significance for Williams. Having experienced hardship, she finds it rewarding to bring happiness to others through charitable work. She also plans to start an NPO, seeing her pageant accomplishments as the foundation for future projects.

Challenges and triumphs

One of the biggest challenges Williams faced was securing sponsors.

“Approaching businesses is tough because they often want to know what they will gain,” she explained.

“I reminded myself that with or without sponsors, I would participate. Collaborating with me helps businesses increase their visibility, and persistence pays off.”

Williams encourages local businesses to support pageants because doing so benefits the community and gives exposure to their brands.

Favourite moments on stage

When asked about her favourite moment, Williams highlighted the crowd’s energy.

“Even when I reached the top two, the audience cheered for me. Their support was incredible and made the experience unforgettable,” Williams said.

Preparation and mindset

Preparing for the pageant required mental, physical and emotional effort. Williams fasted for three days and relied on prayer to stay focused.

Despite this being her first major pageant, she viewed reaching the top 10, top seven and the top two as a victory.
“Being the first runner-up shows there’s room for growth and more opportunities ahead,” she said.

Upcoming charity projects

Williams is planning new initiatives, including food and clothing drives in locations beyond Eden Park. She also hopes to collaborate with local NPOs and participate in activities such as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month fun walks.

Through her platform, Williams hopes to inspire girls to believe in themselves and pursue their purpose. She wants to give a voice to those who feel marginalised and encourage girls to embrace their beauty.

Williams thanked her support system: Her mother for encouragement, Ashlyn Vermeulen from Powerhouse Models for guidance, and Uncle Lu and Clint for always being there for her.

She also thanked her community supporters for their votes and encouragement.
