Pick n Pay Mulbarton and Lemon Tree support community with sanitary pad donation

With the support of the frontline staff and shoppers, the stores have shown the power of small actions making big changes for the community.

Pick n Pay Mulbarton and Lemon Tree recently made a generous donation of sanitary pads to Dare 2 Care, a community-driven initiative under the Bridge Church Foundation.

The foundation focuses on supporting vulnerable children, particularly in the areas of nutrition and education.

Dare 2 Care distributes 2 500 dignity packs each year to boys and girls in need; the sanitary pads will be included in these packs, specifically benefiting 600 young girls.

Christene Botha from Pick n Pay Mulbarton shared: “We are proud to be part of such an important cause. The support from our frontline staff in selling sanitary pads with every purchase has been incredible, and two staff members in particular stood out by selling the highest number. Their dedication truly reflects the spirit of giving within our store.”

The frontline staff at Pick n Pay Mulbarton and Lemon Tree offered customers the opportunity to purchase sanitary pads with each transaction. This simple yet impactful initiative helped raise awareness and gather resources for the cause. The donation forms part of both stores’ ongoing efforts to uplift and support their communities.

Dare 2 Care expressed its gratitude: “These sanitary pads will be added to our dignity packs and distributed to 600 young girls. This will make a real difference in their lives and provide them with essential resources to feel dignified and supported.”
