WATCH: Brackendowns SAPS give back to Thinasonke community

Residents received blankets, clothing, school shoes and other essesntial items as Brackendows SAPS and community stakeholders joined forces to support families in need.

Brackendowns SAPS and its Youth Desk ended the month of July by giving back to the Thinasonke community through a donation drive to support residents in need.

The initiative was supported by Heal Better and Pastor Moodley, who donated blankets, soap, soft porridge, toys and school shoes.

Members of Brackendowns SAPS also contributed clothes to the collection.

Sakhe Soyizwaphi of Brackendowns SAPS said the initiative was about ending the month on a positive note while strengthening the relationship between the police and the community.

“We wanted to close off July by giving back and showing that we care. It was heartwarming to see the smiles and gratitude from the community.”

The outreach forms part of the Brackendowns SAPS’ efforts to engage with residents beyond policing and contribute towards building stronger and more supportive communities.

Brackendowns SAPS thanked all the stakeholders, donors and community members who contributed to making the initiative possible.
