WATCH: Young at Hearts hosts Christmas celebration for Alberton seniors

Young at Hearts treated Alberton seniors to a joyful Christmas celebration filled with carols, fellowship, and community support.

Young at Hearts hosted its annual Christmas celebration on November 26, bringing festive joy to seniors at Alberton Methodist Church.

The event ran from 10:00 to 11:00, with attendees contributing a non-perishable food item as their entry donation.

Esmerelda Lombard from Young at Hearts said the celebration was a success and noted how well the elderly attended it.

“The attendees enjoyed the food, singing carols, and the fellowship it offered,” she said.

She also shared a Christmas message with the community: “We wish everyone in our community a merry Christmas. May they all experience the hope, joy, peace, and love that Jesus offers. These are the greatest gifts that cannot be found under the tree.”

The event was supported by several sponsors who helped make the morning special.

Amcare provided a hamper, birthday and celebration biscuits, spot prizes, and cold drinks.

Pick n Pay Bracken City donated a hamper, 22 tins of tuna, and offered discounted prices on the sandwiches prepared for the celebration.

AMC volunteers contributed chocolate marshmallows, sweet crackers, and biscuits.
