Community support lifts Alberton Home for the Aged’s Kersmas Fair

Funds raised through the fair will help brighten the lives of residents and support the Home’s daily operations.

The Alberton Home for the Aged in Raceview held its annual Kersmas Fair recently to brighten up the lives of its residents and raise funds for running the Home.

The function was open to the public but was mostly attended by family members of the residents and staff.

It can accommodate approximately 100 frail aged persons in different sections according to their state of health, including a section for those who suffer from Alzheimer’s.

There are also eight one-bedroom and seven two-bedroom life-right flats on the premises for seniors who can still live independently.

Vacancies are currently available in the Home, and there is a waiting list for the flats.

Self-funded persons, as well as those receiving a SASSA grant, can be accommodated.
