Eden Park woman turns pain into purpose through faith-filled book

Eden Park resident Kaelyn Singh has become a published author, sharing a powerful journey of loss, addiction, faith and healing in her new book.

Eden Park resident, Kaelyn Singh has reached a major milestone in her life by becoming a published author.

Her book, Where Her Wounds Became Windows to God, shares a deeply personal journey of pain, faith, healing and purpose, and is already touching the lives of many.

Rooted in family and faith

Kaelyn is originally from Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal and has been living in Johannesburg for the past 11 years. She has been married for 11 years and is a devoted mother to three wonderful sons.

Professionally, she has worked full-time in procurement at Bandag SA for the past five years and ten months, where she continues to grow both personally and professionally.

Family plays a central role in her life. She is grateful to still have both her parents, along with a supportive brother and a beautiful niece.

“The woman I am today has been shaped by the many trials and tribulations I have faced along life’s journey,” Kaelyn shared.

“Experiences that have strengthened my character, deepened my resilience and inspired me to keep moving forward with faith and determination.”

A journey shaped by trials and triumph

At the heart of Kaelyn’s story is her strong Christian faith. She describes her faith as the anchor that has carried her through every season of life.

“The trials and tribulations I have faced have not broken me, but instead molded me into the woman I am today, stronger, wiser and more grounded in God’s grace,” she said.

One of the most powerful parts of her journey is overcoming drug addiction. During that time, Kaelyn made a covenant with God that if she was set free, she would dedicate her life to helping other women facing similar struggles.

“God heard my cry, answered my prayer, and brought me into freedom,” she shared. Today, she stands as what she calls “a living testimony of His power to restore”.

Her life has also been marked by deep loss and hardship. She has experienced the loss of her cousins, teenage pregnancy, depression, and the loss of two babies at birth. Each experience shaped her compassion and strengthened her desire to walk alongside others.

“Walking through the pain of losing two of my children taught me the depth of grief but also the comfort of God’s presence,” she shared.

Where her wounds became windows

These life experiences became the foundation of her book. Where Her Wounds Became Windows to God was inspired by her own brokenness and healing.

“What once felt like scars of shame became openings for His light, love, and grace to shine through,” Kaelyn explained. Writing the book was both emotional and spiritual. At times she had to pause and process painful memories, but she believes each word is a testament to resilience and faith.

The book was launched in October, and Kaelyn says the response has been overwhelming. “The support thus far has been amazing. I thank each and everyone who has supported me,” she said.

Alongside being an author, Kaelyn is also the founder of the non-profit organisation, Women of Power. The organisation was inspired by the loss of her two late cousins, whose lives were cut short. Women of Power aims to uplift and support women spiritually, emotionally, mentally and practically. Its vision is to create a safe haven offering services that help women and children heal and grow.

Finances have been one of the biggest challenges, and the safe haven was paused due to illness and the birth of her baby boy. She is currently working on building funds to restart it.

Balancing life as a wife, mother, author and leader is not always easy. Kaelyn says intentionality, faith and balance are key.

Her parents have been a strong source of support, and daily prayer, family time and self-care help keep her grounded.

Looking ahead

Kaelyn’s dreams centre on growth, impact and service. Her prayer is to expand her ministry and reach more women through sustainable programmes.

Through her book, she hopes women will find healing, courage and clarity. “I want them to know that they are not alone,” she said, and that their pain can become a source of strength and transformation.
