Alberton and Thokoza: Check your updated waste collection days for 2026–2027

The City of Ekurhuleni has revised its refuse collection schedules, and residents are urged to follow the new collection days to avoid missed pickups.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) Waste Management Services Business Unit has announced changes to waste collection rounds in several areas across the city.

From January 2026 to December 2027, some neighbourhoods will have new collection days. Residents are urged to follow the updated schedule to ensure efficient and uninterrupted service.

According to the City of Ekurhuleni, the updated waste collection schedule is as follows:

Mondays

Alberton: Brackenhurst, Albertsdal (Meyersig, Palmietfontein), Eden Park and extensions 1 and 4.

Thokoza: Thokoza Gardens, Thinasonke extensions 3 and 4, Eden Park West and extension 1 (Bekela), Eden Park extension 4 (Phase 4), Greenfields 1, Palm Ridge, Vergenoeg and Ntabansimbi.

Tuesdays

Alberton: Brackendowns, Kromvlei, Mayberry Park, Alrode South, South Downs, Alrode and Alrode extension 7.

Thokoza: Thokoza town housing, Unit F, Phenduka to Phumula (Mqashi from Buthelezi Street), Palm Ridge extensions 1, 2, 3, 9B, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20.

Wednesdays

Alberton: Bassonia Rock, Linmeyer, Randhart, Meyersdal, Meyersdal Nature Estate, and Klipriviersberg.

Thokoza: Thintwa Village, Mpilisweni, Thokoza town housing, Phumula Mqashi, Palm Ridge extensions 9, 21, 22, 23 and 27, and Palm Ridge phases 5 and 6.

Thursdays

Alberton: Alberton North (Roxton), Florentia, Elandsfontein, South Crest, Leopard’s Rest (Albertsdal extensions 30, 31, 32 and 43), Generaal Albertspark, New Market Minor AH and New Market Park.

Thokoza: Thokoza extension 1 (Everest) from Thokothaba to Mogwera, Yende and Nkaki, Othandweni extension 1 (Phutaditjhaba), Phola Park extensions 1 and 2, and Palm Ridge extensions 7, 8, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30 and 32.

Fridays

Alberton: New Redruth, Verwoerdpark, Alberante and Raceview.

Thokoza: Thokoza extension 2, Thokoza extension 5 (Phola Park extension 5), Thokoza extension 1 (Everest) from Moghorro to Yende via Nkaki Street, Palm Ridge extension 4, Greenfields 2, Eden Park extension 5 (phases 1 to 5), and Palm Ridge extensions 33, 34, 35 and 38.

The city encourages residents to comply with the revised schedule to ensure smooth and uninterrupted waste collection services.

Residents should place refuse out on the correct day and follow their area’s schedule to ensure smooth collection.
