Alberton SAPS held a ceremony for its newly promoted officers on January 12.

Alberton SAPS station commander, Colonel Olivein Letloenyane, who was visibly pleased with the officers receiving their new ranks, led the ceremony.

The 10 officers were promoted from the rank of sergeant to warrant officers, with one being promoted from constable to sergeant.

Commenting on the promotions, Letloenyane said: “Alberton SAPS management is proud of the newly promoted officers. Their promotions are aimed at strengthening our station’s capacity for crime-fighting efforts in the Alberton precinct. We also hope that these promotions will assist us in police-community engagement.”
