Stepping Stone Hospice Charity Shop marks 8 years of community care

Eight years of community generosity continue to fund compassionate care for hospice patients and their families in Alberton.

Stepping Stone Hospice proudly celebrated the eighth anniversary of its charity shop on February 17, marking a milestone that reflects years of dedicated service and the generosity of the Alberton community.

Since opening its doors eight years ago, the Stepping Stone Hospice Charity Shop has evolved into far more than a place to purchase affordable, pre-loved treasures.

It has become a vital lifeline for the five-star, COHSASA-accredited Hospice, helping to fund compassionate palliative care for patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses.

Every donated item, every purchase, and every volunteer hour has contributed to sustaining the hospice’s mission: ensuring that no one has to face serious illness alone.

Founder and CEO, Tersia Burger, expressed gratitude as the organisation marked the special occasion.

“Our shop is a true reflection of what can be achieved when a community comes together with compassion. For eight years, our supporters have helped us turn everyday donations into dignity, comfort and care for our patients.

“We are incredibly grateful to every person who has walked through our doors. We encourage the community to visit our shop and browse the wonderful items available at affordable prices,” she said.

As the Hospice celebrates this anniversary, it extends sincere thanks to its donors, customers, volunteers and staff, each of whom has helped transform compassion into action over the past eight years.

Community members are encouraged to visit the shop at Stats Building, 2 Fore Street, New Redruth, Alberton.
