Alberton Lions Eye Clinic offers free screenings and affordable spectacles

Residents are invited to attend a free eye testing event in Alberton North, with affordable spectacles and free standard readers available.

The Alberton Lions Eye Clinic will host a free eye-testing event to improve access to basic eye care services in the community.

The event is scheduled to take place on March 28, from 09:00 to 12:00 at Ligstad, 32 Van Riebeeck Avenue, Alberton North.

Community members are encouraged to attend; no appointment is required.

The reading glasses will be provided free of charge, while a range of spectacles will be available from R300. The clinic will cater for various vision needs, including distance, reading and bifocal lenses.

Residents will be assisted on a walk-in basis, with the last patient accepted at 12:00. The initiative is designed to make eye care more accessible, particularly for those who may not regularly have access to vision testing services.

The Alberton Lions Club, known for its community outreach programs, continues to play a key role in delivering essential health services through initiatives such as this eye clinic.

Attendees are advised that full payment must be made before spectacles can be ordered.
