WATCH: Rocking Future expo inspire learners at Royal Schools Alberton

The Rocking Future Expo is equipping learners with the knowledge, confidence and options they need to take their next step after matric.

The Rocking Future Expo visited Grade 12 learners at Royal Schools Alberton on March 17, aiming to guide and support students by exposing them to different career paths, study options and opportunities beyond school.

Hosted by 3RC, the event allowed learners to meet with various institutions and career advisors. They could ask questions, learn about study programmes, and find options that fit their interests and skills.

Different private institutions were present to offer a variety of programmes and career opportunities.

Boris Petrenko from Rocking Future Expo explained why the expo is important.

“We provide a platform for matric learners who don’t know what they want to study or do next. It’s normal to feel uncertain about life after school,” he said.

The Rocking Future Expo also showed learners smaller institutions with special programmes in areas like art, design, and technical training.

Learners were also introduced to gap year programmes, where they can travel, gain work experience, and even earn money while exploring their interests.

“This event helps us learn about the different institutions and programmes we can apply to. If we want to study law or arts, we now know where to go to get a proper education,” said head boy Simbarathe Hamadziriphi from Royal Schools Alberton.

“I learned that you don’t need to go to a famous university to succeed. You can go to a college, get your qualification and still be successful. Colleges are a good alternative if varsity doesn’t work out,” said head girl Olwethu Zwane.

The event included an interactive live show with tips, advice, and inspiration to help learners plan their future.
