WATCH: Alberton welcomes Leroy Merlin’s latest retail expansion

A new shopping experience has arrived in Alberton as Leroy Merlin opens its sixth South African store.

The new Leroy Merlin store in Alberton has officially opened, marking an exciting milestone as the brand continues to grow in South Africa and invest in local communities.

The launch day was filled with energy and excitement, as families and residents came out in large numbers to celebrate.

Visitors enjoyed a full day of activities, including the popular Bakkie Motorcade, interactive in-store experiences, and exciting giveaways that brought the community together.

Shoppers who spent R1 500 or more were given the chance to step inside a money machine to grab vouchers in a fun, fast-paced challenge. Many residents walked away smiling after winning prizes.

“I feel great, I’ve won. It looked easy, but it wasn’t easy,” said Mxolisi Faleni, one of the voucher winners.

Guests also had the opportunity to meet Leroy Merlin’s leadership team and learn more about the company’s investment in Alberton and across South Africa. A community outreach initiative was introduced, inviting residents to nominate local organisations for upgrades and renovations.

This opening is especially meaningful as it marks Leroy Merlin’s sixth store in the country since launching locally in 2016.
