Golf day of hope set to drive support for Divan’s recovery

The Alberton community is rallying behind 26-year-old Divan Aucamp through a charity golf day at Reading Country Club on July 16.

The Alberton community is coming together in a powerful show of support for 26-year-old Divan Aucamp, who remains in a coma in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Alberton Netcare Hospital after contracting bacterial meningitis while working abroad in China.

To assist with his mounting medical expenses and ongoing care, family, friends and supporters have organised a Charity Golf Day at Reading Country Club in Alberton on July 16, with registration closing on July 8.

Although the road to recovery is expected to be long and challenging, his family remains hopeful and grateful for the community’s support.

The fundraising event aims to bring together businesses, golfers and community members to help provide Divan with the best possible chance of recovery, with funds going towards medical expenses and provide financial relief to the family during this difficult period.

Golfers can enter the tournament as part of a four-ball team at a cost of R4 500 per team. The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart and dinner. Only 36 four-ball entries will be available. Hole sponsoring is available at R2 000.

In addition to the golf tournament, participants can look forward to raffles, auctions, prizes and a dinner, all aimed at generating much-needed support for Divan’s recovery journey.

Businesses are also being encouraged to become involved through hole sponsorships, prize sponsorships, auction item donations, raffle prize donations and event partnerships.
