Stepping Stone Hospice steps in to help homeless man after his wheelchair was damaged

Stepping Stone Hospice has donated a wheelchair to a homeless man in Brackenhurst after his previous wheelchair was damaged in an accident

A homeless man in Brackenhurst has received a new wheelchair, giving him back the freedom to move around independently after an accident left him without his primary means of mobility.

The donation, thanks to the generosity of Stepping Stone Hospice, followed a request for assistance from Karen de Beer from MC Van Dyk & Associates, who became aware of the man’s situation after his wheelchair was damaged beyond repair when he was involved in a vehicle accident.

Understanding the importance of mobility for someone already facing significant daily challenges, Stepping Stone Hospice stepped in to provide a replacement wheelchair.

For the recipient, the wheelchair represents far more than a piece of equipment. It offers renewed independence, improved access to essential services, and the ability to navigate daily life with greater ease and dignity.

The donation reflects the ongoing commitment of Stepping Stone Hospice to supporting vulnerable members of the community and extending care beyond its hospice services.

Stepping Stone Hospice also acknowledged the role played by MC Van Dyk & Associates in identifying the need and helping to facilitate assistance.

The organisation expressed its gratitude to its donors and supporters, whose continued generosity makes it possible to provide practical help to individuals facing difficult circumstances.
