Alberton business owners connect, learn and grow at Latte Link Mornings in Randhart
Local business owners are finding support, networking opportunities and valuable business insights through Latte Link Mornings in Randhart, where entrepreneurs share experiences, discuss challenges and explore strategies for business growth.
Running a business can often feel like a lonely journey, with owners carrying the responsibility of making important decisions and overcoming challenges on their own.
Recognising this need for support and collaboration, Nadia van Rooyen, founder of Company Info SA, established Latte Link Mornings more than a year ago.
According to Van Rooyen, the monthly networking initiative was created to provide local business owners with a space to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another’s experiences.
Held at Royal Coffee Courtyard in Randhart from 08:00 to 09:00, the sessions bring together a small group of entrepreneurs to discuss challenges, exchange ideas and explore solutions.
To ensure meaningful conversations and allow everyone to participate, attendance is limited to 15 people.
Van Rooyen said unlike traditional networking events that focus on sales, Latte Link Mornings prioritises relationship-building, knowledge-sharing and mutual support.
As part of an upcoming session, attendees will explore what makes their businesses unique and collaborate with Van Rooyen to develop marketing strategies designed to help them stand out in the market.
One of the key topics discussed was the value of constructive criticism in business growth.
“Constructive criticism helps us to grow, and it’s important not to take it the wrong way but to use it to grow your business. It helps a lot,” said Jennifer Parkin.
The group also reflected on the realities of entrepreneurship, including the inevitable ups and downs that business owners face.
Attendees agreed that quieter periods in business should not always be viewed negatively.
“This stage helps you figure out what it is that you’re doing wrong or need to improve on so that the business can do well,” shared Katherine Adams.
The growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in business was another topic of discussion.
Participants agreed that AI can be a valuable tool for enhancing ideas and improving efficiency, but cautioned against relying on it entirely.
Using marketing materials as an example, attendees noted that many AI-generated posters often look similar, making it easy to identify content created solely through artificial intelligence.
Van Rooyen also highlighted the importance of choosing the right social media platforms for a business rather than trying to maintain a presence on every platform available.
She explained that not all social media platforms are suitable for every business and that owners should focus on the channels that best align with their target audience and business goals.
Through open discussions and shared experiences, Latte Link Mornings continues to provide local entrepreneurs with practical insights, fresh perspectives and a supportive community of fellow business owners navigating similar journeys.
