An afternoon filled with talent, laughter, and community spirit brought people together for a cause close to their hearts at NextGen’s Got Talent, held in support of Blake Froneman.

The event showcased a variety of young talent, with performances ranging from art, gymnastics, dance, and singing to card tricks. “It was wonderful to see our young people stepping out of their comfort zones, sharing their gifts, and entertaining the crowd,” organisers said.

Taking first place were The Norgate Girls, a mom-and-daughters singing group whose angelic voices earned them the top spot.

Sinclair Ness claimed second place after bringing plenty of energy to the stage with a dance performance. Third place went to Ayona Nair, who amazed the audience with her card skills.

She added another feat to her performance by solving a Rubik’s Cube in just one minute and 10 seconds.

Teachers join the dance floor

The entertainment continued after the competition with a lively dance showdown between the NextGen Youth and the Teen and Children’s Church Teachers.

The teachers were not prepared to let the youth have all the fun and took to the dance floor themselves, giving the youngsters a run for their money.

“It was a wonderful reminder that you’re never too old to get out there, have a little fun, and show off your moves,” organisers said. Attendees could also enjoy meals prepared and sold by Metanoia’s Care to Care Team. However, beyond the entertainment, the event had an important purpose.

All proceeds from NextGen’s Got Talent will go towards Blake’s spine surgery.

“Every ticket purchased, meal enjoyed, and contribution made is another piece of the puzzle in Blake’s journey,” organisers said.
