Stepping Stone Hospice is calling on community members to choose the organisation as their cause on Woolworths MyDifference, as it works to reach 250 supporters.

The Hospice currently has 27 supporters, so it needs 223 more to reach its 250-supporter milestone.

The appeal comes ahead of changes to the monthly support the organisation receives through the programme from November 1.

Stepping Stone Hospice said its supporter numbers have declined from 68 members in June 2025 to 52 in June 2026, and now stand at 27.

The organisation said every supporter can contribute towards its work without paying anything extra.
In previous months, the programme provided Stepping Stone Hospice with a guaranteed payment of R815, plus R499.73 in supporter-based funding.

According to the Hospice, this funding contributes towards the compassionate care it provides to patients and families in the community.

Community members who use the Woolworths app can support Stepping Stone Hospice by selecting it as their cause.

How to support Stepping Stone Hospice

• Open the Woolworths app.

• Go to ‘My causes’.

• Select Stepping Stone Hospice as your chosen cause.

Once selected, a percentage of eligible Woolworths purchases contributes towards the organisation’s support, at no additional cost to the shopper.

Stepping Stone Hospice is also encouraging existing supporters to share the appeal with family, friends and colleagues to help increase its supporter numbers.

The organisation thanked those who have already chosen it and urged others to take a moment to select Stepping Stone Hospice as their cause.

Every additional supporter will bring the Hospice closer to its target of 250 supporters and help sustain the services it provides to patients and their families.
